After School Enrichment (ASE)
Volunteer Needed: After School Enrichment (ASE) Coordinator
Our school is looking for a volunteer to take over the After School Enrichment (ASE) Coordinator role next academic year. This position is essential — without a coordinator, the ASE program cannot run, and our students will not have access to enrichment classes. The ASE Coordinator connects providers, school administration, and families, helping bring valuable programs to our students beyond the regular school day.
Time commitment:
- Two seasons per year (Fall & Spring)
- The most intensive work is about one week in August and one week in December to prepare the online season setup
- Enrollment runs for 2 weeks + 1 buffer week, and is moderate and manageable
- Outside of these windows, responsibilities are lighter and mostly coordination-based
This role can absolutely be shared. Two co-coordinators are welcome, and many volunteers actually prefer partnering. If you and a friend are interested together, let us know. If you’re interested but would feel more comfortable having a partner, we’re happy to help match you with another volunteer.
Our current ASE coordinator will not be able to continue next year, so unless someone steps in, the ASE program will not be available next year. To ease the transition, a detailed step-by-step guide has been prepared and there is still plenty of time before the next season. The current coordinator will also be available over the summer to support the new volunteer(s).
If you care about creating opportunities for our kids, this is a meaningful and impactful way to serve our school community. Please reach out if you’re interested: khorosh.anna@
Winter-Spring 2026 Season
Online Enrollment Starts January, 13, at 7pm
Our after-school enrichment classes are a wonderful way for students to explore new activities right here on campus. Offered by trusted outside providers, these optional programs give parents the convenience of extracurricular opportunities without extra driving. Each session runs 8–10 weeks, with classes held once a week—making it a great way for children to try something new without the long-term commitment.
It’s a fun, flexible way to discover new interests and skills in a supportive environment!
We have adopted a registration system called Homeroom. This allows us to streamline sign up and track all students & classes.
In advance of enrollment opening, feel free to go online and create an account on Homeroom.
We also suggest adding your children’s info so you can sign up quickly as class sizes are limited and enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.

How to Apply for an ASE Scholarship at Indian Valley
We’re committed to making After School Enrichment (ASE) programs accessible to all families. Scholarships are available thanks to the generous support of our Providers and the ASE Fund.
Scholarship Allocation
- One child – one class. Each scholarship covers one ASE class per child.
- Scholarships are offered once a class reaches the minimum number of students.
- We try to place children according to:
- Their class preferences
- Equity of opportunities
- First-come, first-served basis
Funding Sources
- Providers generously cover scholarships each session.
- The ASE Fund provides additional scholarships. The size of the fund depends on:
- Donations from our community
- $2 from each ASE enrollment
Opportunities for All
- Typically, we receive fewer scholarship requests than available spots.
- That means if you qualify, your child will most likely be placed in a class. But this is not guaranteed.
✅ Reminder: Apply early! This increases your chances of getting your preferred class.
Your next steps:
- Complete the District Education Benefits Form
- Families must start by filling out the District Education Benefits Form.
https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new?lang=English
- This form determines eligibility.
- Get Principal Approval – send email to aminnich@walnutcreeksd.org
- If your family qualifies, the form will be reviewed by the Principal.
- Once approved (I will receive email from Principal), your child can be considered for a scholarship placement.
- Class Assignment
- Once approved, the ASE Coordinator (that’s me) will assign your child to a class based on:
- Grade level
- Class availability
- We track participation to ensure no child attends the same class session after session. This way, all students have a fair chance to explore different activities.
- ASE Coordinator sends you the code for a discount to buy the class from Homeroom
We're looking forward to a fabulous and ‘enriching’ program this Fall. You may also contact the PTO with feedback, general inquiries, and interest in joining our After School Enrichment Committee. And as a quick reminder, this is not a school sponsored program. Each student must complete an ASE Waiver and follow ASE guidelines to participate.
